University, affordable homes among BN's pledges for Ledang





MUAR, May 1 (Bernama) -- A public university, 1,000 units of affordable homes and upgrading the Tangkak Hospital are among the pledges in the Barisan Nasional's special manifesto for the Ledang parliamentary constituency for the 14th general election (GE14).

Ledang BN chairman and the incumbent MP Datuk Hamim Samuri said the manifesto outlined five core thrusts namely the economy and people's wellbeing, infrastructure and public amenities, education, security and religion.

"I can safely say 90 per cent of the pledges have received the green light from the respective ministries and blessings of Johor BN. We pray BN will be returned the mandate so that we can fulfill the promises," he told reporters after launching the manifesto here today.

Present were the BN candidates for the state seats under the constituency namely Goh Tee Tee (Tangkak), Datuk M.Asojan (Gambir) and Datuk Rahim Talib (Serom).

The pledges also included opening a new site for a farmers' market, setting up a halal hub and a collection and sale centre for products manufactured by small and medium industries, a fully residential school, police beat base in Tangkak Jaya, a new polyclinic, mini stadium, cycling routes and upgrading the Tangkak bus and taxi terminal.
