Choose party over candidate - Tajol
IPOH, May 2 (Bernama) -- Supporters of Barisan Nasional (BN) should place the coalition's interest above that of candidates in the 14th General Election (GE14), said Tan Sri Tajol Rosli Ghazali, who was Perak's 9th menteri besar from 1999 to 2008.
"I've come to Tambun not because (the BN candidate for Tambun seat is) Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah, but because he is contesting on the BN ticket. UMNO and BN are more important than any individual."
"That's why if (former prime minister) Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was contesting on a BN ticket for the Langkawi seat, I would have gone to Langkawi to show my support for him, but Tun (Dr Mahathir) is contesting on the PKR ticket," he told a press conference here, today.
Earlier, Tajol Rosli and Ahmad Husni joined residents at Kampung Tengku Hussin Baru here for breakfast.
Ahmad Husni has held the Tambun parliamentary seat since 1995 and will face Perak PPBM chairman Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Perak Ulama Council deputy chief Muhamad Zulkifli Mohd Zakaria in GE14.
