KUALA LANGAT, May 2 (Bernama) -- The Barisan Nasional (BN) women's wing, through its 'Jalinan Rakyat' or JR machinery, will intensify campaign on the final days of the campaign for the 14th general election to counter allegations made against the coalition by Pakatan Harapan.
Wanita BN leader Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said during the final days of the campaign would intensify programmes on the ground to meet voters and explain to them on issues raised and fake news spread by the opposition parties.
The programme was being carried out and would be intensified on the final days of the campaign period, she said during a walkabout in Taman Kemuning with the BN candidates Rozana Kamarulzaman, who is contesting the Morib state seat, and Shahril Sufian Hamdan for the Kuala Langat parliamentary seat.
On the campaign by Kuala Langat Wanita BN machinery so far, she said she was happy with progress and commitment displayed by members.
"The Kuala Langat Wanita BN has given the assurance to ensure victory for all the BN candidates in the constituency," she said.
Today is the fifth day of campaign for GE14. The Election Commission has set May 5 for early voting and May 9 for polling.
The contest for the Morib state seat will witness Rozana being challenged by the incumbent, Hasnul Baharuddin, from Amanah, who is using the PKR logo, and PAS candidate Dr Mohd Sallehuddin Hafiz.
Hasnul contested in the last general election as a PAS candidate.
For the Kuala Langat parliamentary seat, the contenders, besides Shahril Sufian, are Dr Xavier Jayakumar from PKR, and Datuk Dr Yahya Bab from PAS.
In the last general election, the seat was won by PKR candidate Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid.
