KSN reminds civil servants to fulfil responsibility as voters on May 9
KUALA TERENGGANU, May 2 (Bernama) -- Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa once again reminded all civil servants who were eligible to vote to fulfil their responsibilities as voters come May 9.
"I hope all civil servants will exercise their voting rights on May 9," he told reporters after visiting the 'Jualan Sentuhan Rakyat' sale site at Batas Baharu parking lot here today.
Ali was accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Rohani Abdullah, who is also the president of the National Association of Wives of Civil Servants and Women Civil Servants (Puspanita).
Also present were Terengganu police chief Datuk Aidi Ismail and state Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) director Saharuddin Mohd Kia.
Ali also commended the government's initiatives through KPDNKK in organising the sale programme, which offers daily necessities at prices cheaper than other places.
The sale programme, which has gained an encouraging response from the public, was proof of the government's concern about the people's burden due to the rising cost of living.
"I was made to understand that 200 of such sale programmes have been carried out nationwide and benefited the people, including civil servants and the bottom 40 per cent income group.
"Thus, I hope that this programme will be continued and turned into a routine nationwide programme. I also hope that it will gain support from state governments," he added.
