Dr Streram out to sabotage BN - Mohamad
GEMAS, May 2 (Bernama) -- The controversy involving PKR candidate Dr S Streram at Dewan Undangan Negeri Rantau on Nomination Day for the 14th general election on Saturday was something that was pre-planned to sabotage the candidacy of Barisan Nasional's nominee for the Rembau parliamentary seat, Khairy Jamaluddin, said Negeri Sembilan BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
He said it was also staged to give a negative perception of the Election Commission besides trying to show to the world that politics in Malaysia was not fair.
Mohamad said Pakatan Harapan now was trying to confuse voters there that since he had won the Rantau state seat uncontested, they need not come out to vote on polling day on May 9.
"I urge voters in Rantau, locals and outstation voters alike to turn out in full force to support Khairy," he told reporters after performing the groundbreaking for Masjid Baharu Gemas and handing over land titles to Felcra Bukit Jelai settlers here today.
Present were the BN's candidates for the Tampin parliamentary seat Datuk Seri Shaziman Abu Mansor, Gemas Datuk Abdul Razak Ab Said and Felcra chief operating officer Zainal Abidin Shariff.
Asked about Dr Streram plans to seek legal redress over his disqualification, Mohamad said it was his right and privilege to do so (the candidate was not allowed to enter the nomination centre for not having an EC pass and as there were no other candidates Mohamad was declared the winner).
