Noh Omar confident BN can recapture Selangor in GE14

TANJONG KARANG, May 4 (Bernama) -- Selangor BN today reiterated that BN would be able to win 30 of the 56 state seats in the state in the general election on May 9.

Its chairman, Tan Sri Noh Omar, said the confidence was based on the positive response from the voters over the last six days of campaigning in the 14th general election.

"The focus of the BN campaign was not on the 'ceramah' (talks) but on the face-to-face meeting with the voters at their locations.

"This strategy seems to be successful. State seats previously categorised as 'black-grey' have turned 'grey' and those that were 'grey-white' have become 'white'," he said to reporters after launching a People's Housing Programme in Ujung Permatang here.

Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek was also present at the event.

Noh said that the Chinese voters were reported to be in favour of the BN in this general election as they felt that the BN was committed to ensuring the welfare of all the communities, including the Chinese.

Selangor fell to the opposition in the 2008 general election. The opposition retained the state in the general election in 2013.
