SABAS supports BN for its good development track record

SANDAKAN, May 5 (Bernama) -- Persatuan Bangsa Sungai Sabah (SABAS) has pledged its support for Barisan Nasional (BN) based on the latter's record in developing the state.

Its president Datuk Juhari Janan said the association which has 5,000 members would ensure that BN wins big in Sabah in the 14th general election.

"Sabah BN under the leadership of Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman has a good record in developing the state for the wellbeing of the people," he said at a solidarity gathering of the association's members last night in which Musa attended.

He said the association's goal was in line with the government's initiative to strengthen unity among the Bangsa Sungai community and other ethnic groups and races in the state.

At the same time, the association was also focused on preserving the ethnic group's culture and heritage.

Meanwhile, Musa said racial unity was an important element in development and maintaining a harmonious environment in the state.

Hence, he said, he was always accommodating of ethic and culture-based associations.

"We in Sabah consist of diverse ethnicity, race and religion yet can live peacefully and harmoniously," noted Musa who is also Sabah BN chairman.
