Dr Mahathir prevented from visiting Nik Aziz's grave
KOTA BHARU, May 6 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been prevented from visiting the grave of Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat by the family members of the late PAS spiritual leader here today.
About 9 am, Nik Abdul Aziz's son Nik Adli was seen locking the gates of the Kampung Pulau Melaka Muslim cemetery.
The entrance to the cemetery was also blocked by a lorry.
Also present were PAS candidate for Kota Anggerik seat Ahmad Dusuki Abd Rani who is also Nik Adli's cousin and a group of PAS supporters.
Speaking to reporters, Ahmad Dusuki said he did not want anybody to split the family apart.
"Our family have had enough and we don't want outsiders to break us apart," he said.
Ahmad Dusuki said his family did not want the legacy of the former Kelantan menteri besar to be betrayed.
"Tok guru (Nik Abdul Aziz) had instilled a good Islamic foundation but suddenly there are those who try to bring bad elements...we do not want this to happen," he said.
Dr Mahathir is currently in Kelantan and is scheduled to visit Nik Abdul Aziz's grave as part of his campaign trail.
