Selangor BN warns people of opposition's 'sweet promises'

KUALA SELANGOR, May 6 (Bernama) -- The people of Selangor have been warned against falling for the 'sweet promises' spread by opposition leaders throughout the 14th general election (GE14).

Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said the state government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali had failed to resolve the issues faced by the people, especially those related to housing.

"The Menteri Besar is only giving sweet promises and is not sincere in taking care of the welfare of the people.

"For instance, he gave assessment exemption for flat occupants in the state, but at the same time allowed the residents be burdened with damaged public amenities including faulty lifts," he told reporters after handing over an allocation of RM4 million for Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Ladang Kampung Baru here today.

Noh, who is also Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman said the people of the state should be wise in evaluating the good deeds carried out by the BN-led federal government for the benefit of the people.

"Throughout the two years as KPKT Minister, we have allocated over RM30 million for the renovation of flat units in the state.

"Meanwhile, RM18 million had been spent on the lift repairs in the Gombak parliamentary constituency in which the MP is the Menteri Besar himself," he said.

Noh also hoped that the people of Selangor would continue to remain faithful and united with BN by ensuring a win for the party on May 9.
