Opposition campaigns unable to shake Pahang BN

KUANTAN, May 7 (Bernama) -- The opposition still failed to shake Barisan Nasional (BN) in Pahang through its campaigns and talks, two days ahead of the 14th General Election (GE14) on May 9.

After targeting the GE14 as the best chance to overthrow the state government, the opposition's activities, however, are not leading towards the desired goal.

In its election campaigns and talks, the PKR is touching on national issues rather than highlighting the issues to champion the people's well-being.

Although the majority of the issues raised have been thoroughly answered by the government, PKR leaders and machinery still continue spreading misleading facts in order to create bad and negative perceptions towards the government and BN candidates.

"Such campaigns only bring boredom to the people," said a young voter Mohd Hanif Zulhilmi, when met by Bernama here.

His friend, Mohd Safuan Zakaria, said the opposition had ran out of ideas when it kept repeating the same issues.

Pahang Federation of Peninsular Malay Students (GPMS) chairman Wan Emril Nizam Wan Embong said the opposition needed to rely on its key national leaders to boost the morale of the machinery and supporters.

He said the track record of the opposition elected representatives in the 13th parliament was also not very encouraging.
