DAP aiming Perak MB post if Pakatan Harapan wins - Amran
KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- A DAP lifetime member, Amran Ahmad has revealed that the party was aiming for the Perak Menteri Besar's position should the Pakatan Harapan win the 14th general election (GE14).
He said the disclosure was based on a letter which he allegedly received on April 6 from DAP candidate for the Tebing Tinggi state seat, Prof Dr Abdul Aziz Bari, who said that the DAP was not willing to hand over the post to Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as they wanted someone from their party to be the menteri besar.
"It is clear that the DAP has been lying as veteran leader Lim Kit Siang had earlier said that he had no intention of claiming the Perak Menteri Besar position."
"Many see this statement as a political strategy to get the Malay voters to support Pakatan Harapan (PH)," he told a media conference here today.
Amran added that he was disappointed with Abdul Aziz for allowing himself to be used by the DAP.
"I get a lot of information from him including about his political direction, but I am disappointed that a person with integrity like him is susceptible to manipulation and I am certain that Dr Abdul Aziz will be at the mercy of Ng Kor Ming and Ngeh Koo Ham."
"In addition, the public assumes that the relationship between all parties in PH is good but on the contrary it isn't. Since the Pakatan Rakyat days, PKR and DAP were always at loggerheads," said Amran who does not intend to leave the party for the time being.
On Saturday, the local media reported that Amran, a DAP member and part of its publicity team, disclosed that the DAP was intending to distribute malicious propaganda materials against the government to win votes in the GE14 this Wednesday.
As such he called on the people especially Malay voters in Perak, not to support PH in the upcoming election.
"Do not support PH, do not tick the PKR logo, without realising it you are handing over Perak to the DAP," he said, adding that PH was not fit to rule Malaysia.
He said he would make a series of revelation to give the people a clear understanding of the opposition parties way of spreading malice to confuse the public.
