BN Youth wants action against contesting parties violating EC rules

KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 (Bernama) -- The Election Commission (EC) has been urged to take action against political parties which are contesting using other party's logo but still using their own logos in their campaign for the 14th General Election (GE14).

Federal Territories Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth head Datuk Mohd Razlan Rafii said DAP was one of these parties, moving throughout the country and displaying their rocket logo as part of their campaign material.

He said DAP had even used its logo during one of their talk at Simpang Empat, Alor Setar, and this clearly violated the EC rules.

"It is a blatant offence committed by the party to fish for votes," he told reporters after lodging a report to the EC at the Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya Federal Territories Election Office here today.

Mohd Razlan said for GE14, the EC had imposed additional rules, including the ban on the use of symbols and logos of unregistered parties as campaign material, including that of DAP, Amanah and PPBM.

"The EC should use whatever means it can to monitor and take immediate action so that this does not continue," he said.

In the GE14, DAP is contesting under the PKR logo.
