BN confident of capturing Dungun in GE14
DUNGUN, May 7 (Bernama) -- With all the efforts carried out by the Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery, the party is confident of capturing the Dungun parliamentary and four state seats in the 14th general election (GE14) this Wednesday.
BN candidate for Dungun parliamentary constituency Datuk Din Adam said in winning the hearts of the people, the party made sure that the complaints and aspirations of the voters were heard and assistance were channeled to them.
"We have also ensured that development projects are carried out even in opposition areas, in fulfilling the needs of the people," he told Bernama after visiting Dungun parliamentary polling district centres recently.
He said the BN was confident of retaining the Bukit Besi state seat, which was won in the 2004 general election with a majority of over 300 votes and a six-vote majority in GE13.
"We will not encounter much problem here (Bukit Besi state constituency) because the community that we have here are from their original hometown. This is a new settlement built by the Central Terengganu Development Board (Ketengah) in 1981."
"We had been working hard for the development of the constituency, not for our own personal interests or to find fault in others," he said adding that with two days to go the machinery would go all out to ensure BN victory in Dungun.
In the GE14, the contest for the Dungun parliamentary seat will witness a three-cornered fight between Din Adam of BN, incumbent Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli of PAS, and Abdul Rahman Yusof of PKR.
Three of the four state seats are also held by PAS namely Alias Harun (Rantau Abang), Wan Hapandi Wan Nik (Sura) and Satiful Bahari Mamat (Paka) while Roslee Daud (BN-UMNO) is defending the Bukit Besi state seat. All incumbents will be facing a three-cornered fight between BN, PAS and PKR.
