Perak BN campaigning by locality, no propaganda, no big rallies

LUMUT, May 7 (Bernama) -- Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) have always used a locality approach rather than propaganda and big rallies like those done by the opposition during the campaign period for the 14th General Election (GE14).

Its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, said this approach had received a positive response from the people as it moved to each community and locality, visiting voters' homes to gain the support of the people.

"The response from the people is very good because what matters most in an election is the people in the area," he told a press conference after meeting the people in Kampung Telaga Nenas here today.

"A positive response from the people is important because we are not applying propaganda like the opposition is doing," he said.

Zambry, who is BN candidate for the Lumut parliamentary seat and the Pangkor state seat, said the opposition always used the number of people who turned up at their rallies as an indicator of the voters' support.

However, Zambry said the people would make their own assessment based on their confidence in the candidate and the party that was contesting.
