LABUAN, May 7 (Bernama) -- Labuan Umno youth has called on voters here to choose the government of the day when casting vote on the polling day on May 9.
Its chief Datuk Mohd Rafi Alli Hassan said the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) government was expected to continue to govern the country after the 14th general election (GE14).
"Based on the proven track record, the BN government is expected to continue to rule the country, as Malaysians in general are fully aware of the capability of the government of the day," he said at a press conference at the BN Command Centre, here today.
He said the young voters, making up more than 80 per cent of the voters on the island, would be voting for the BN candidate.
"Based on previous election record, 80 per cent of young voters here voted for the BN candidate, and this time around (GE14), we are optimistic, the number will increase as the incumbent had done its part to help fulfill the youth's needs."
Labuan BN candidate Datuk Rozman Isli called on the 28, 356 voters on the island to turn out on polling day as early as possible to once again give the mandate to BN.
Rozman who is defending the Labuan seat is locked in a four-cornered battle with Warisan, PAS and Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah.
