Najib expresses appreciation to voters, election workers





KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak expressed his appreciation to all voters and election workers who had discharged their respective responsibilities in the 14th general election today.

The Prime Minister also expressed similar appreciation to those who had been on duty to maintain security.

"Thank you to all the voters who exercised their right, the election workers who discharged their responsibility and the security forces who ensured a peaceful polling," he tweeted.

Polling in Malaysia's 14th general election took place from 8 am to 5 pm today, at 8,253 polling stations nationwide.

A total of 14.9 million electors were eligible to vote to elect representatives to 222 parliamentary and 505 state seats.

On Nomination Day on April 28, the BN won the Rantau state seat in Negeri Sembilan unopposed through Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, the menteri besar.
