Perak fails to form state gov't




IPOH, May 10 (Bernama) -- Perak has failed to form the state government as none of the contesting parties won a simple majority in the 14th general election.

At a press conference held in Putrajaya, Election Commission (EC) member Abdul Aziz Khalidin said Pakatan Harapan, comprising PKR, DAP, PPBM and Amanah won 29 out of the 59 state seats.

Meanwhile, Barisan Nasional has 27 seats and PAS, three.

A total of 30 seats is required to form the state government.
