Noh Omar Retains Tanjong Karang Seat
TANJONG KARANG, May 10 (Bernama) -- Tan Sri Noh Omar retained the Tanjong Karang parliamentary seat in Selangor for the sixth term in the general election in a three-cornered contest.
The Selangor BN chairman polled 17,596 votes to defeat Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi of PKR (who received 15,626 votes) and Nor Az Azlan Ahmad of PAS (7,276).
Datuk Mohd Shamsudin Lias of the BN managed to retain the Sungai Burong state seat for the fourth term, polling 8,741 votes to beat Mohd Zamri Mohd Zainuldin of PAS (6,411) and Mohd Tarmizi Lazim of PKR (5,323).
Rozana Zainal Abidin of PKR won the Permatang state seat by securing 9,208 votes and defeated Datuk Sulaiman Abdul Razak of BN (8,050) and Muhammad Jafaruddin Sheikh Daud of PAS (2,746).
Returning Officer Shamsul Shahril Badliza Mohd Noor announced the results at about 1 am.
A total 47,198 voters cast their ballots in the Tanjong Karang parliamentary constituency.
