PBRS third component party to quit Sabah BN
KENINGAU, May 12 (Bernama) -- Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) became the third Barisan Nasional (BN) component party quitting the coalition in the aftermath of the 14th General Election (GE14).
Its vice-president, Vincent Lee, told Bernama that the announcement about the matter was made by party president Tan Sri Joseph Kurup yesterday.
However, he said the party would convene an emergency meeting later today to get the endorsement of the party´s supreme council members on the decision.
"This is all for the people and the future of Sabah," he said.
In the GE14, PBRS won the Sook state seat and Pensiangan parliamentary seat.
Prior to this, two other parties, namely UPKO and LDP, had also quit Sabah BN.
