Six Sarawak political leaders join PKR
KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 (Bernama) --Six Sarawak political leaders including two Independent MPs who won seats in the 14th General Election (GE14), joined PKR today.
The two MPs are Larry Sng Wei Shien (Julau) and Jugah Muyang (Lubok Antu).
Also joining the party are former deputy president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), who is also former minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun.
The announcement was made by PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin, who is also the MP for Ampang, after officially receiving their membership forms which were shown to reporters here.
"All of them including the two Independent MPs have officially joined PKR and have submitted their membership forms,' she said at a press conference here which was also attended by the six political leaders.
The other three who joined PKR were Datuk Sylvester Entri Muran, who is a former state assistant minister, Robert Lingga Mangge and H. Khoo.
"There will be other party leaders who will be joining us," said Zuraida.
In GE14, last Wednesday, PKR won four parliamentary seats in Sarawak, namely Miri, Selangau, Saratok and Puncak Borneo.
With the Lubuk Antu and Julau MPs joining the party, the number of PKR parliamentary seats in Sarawak came up to six seats and the overall number of PKR parliamentary seats are 51 seats.
Meanwhile, Jugah said he decided to join PKR as it was the strongest platform to convey the voice of the people.
