Pas Youth to form special committee to monitor implementation of manifesto in Kelantan , Terengganu

MARANG, May 13 (Bernama) -- PAS Youth is setting a special committee to ensure promises contained in the party´s 14th general election (GE14) manifesto are implemented immediately in Kelantan and Terengganu, the two states now under PAS.

The movement leader, Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi said the committee would comprise the party leaders, members on non-governmental organisations and eminent personalities from various background, including non-Muslims.

"The committee will be set up soon, because we are not using the approach, such as 100 days to implement the manifesto, as being done by other parties.

"As soon as we get the mandate, we'll work and implement the manifesto depending on the state government´s jurisdiction," he told reporters after chairing a meeting on the setting up of the committee here today.

Muhammad Khalil, who is Batu Burok assemblyman, said he did not rule out the possibility of some of the promises could not be implemented as they were under the jurisdiction of the federal government, which was now under Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Touching on the move by Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen in quitting the party and joined PH after GE14, he said it could create an unhealthy political situation and give negative impact on the people.

"We are very concerned because it can affect the country´s administration and most important, it can also affect the people´s welfare.

"Alhamdulillah (Praise to God) PAS is the only party that does not engage in that … this shows that PAS members strongly hold to the party´s policy and struggle," katanya.
