Two BN reps save the day for new Perak government

IPOH, May 14 (Bernama) -- The Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in Perak was able to form its new government, thanks to the support from two Barisan Nasional (BN) state assemblymen.

Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said that the two BN representatives pledged their support to him - as the state leader.

"Their support was what allowed me to seek an audience with Sultan Nazrin Shah to form the government," he added.

The two assemblymen are BN's Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi (Tualang Sekah) and Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin (Sungai Manik).

PH won only 29 of the 59 seats but was able to form the state government in Perak on Saturday, thanks to the two BN representatives, he reiterated.

Ahmad Faizal said that he would discuss with the PH component parties before coming up with the state executive councillors (exco) list, by this week.

He said the new state leadership would focus on fulfilling its obligations through the PH manifesto and will discuss with senior state government officers to implement them

The manifesto has five thrusts and the focus will be on senior citizens, single mothers, disabled people and military and police veterans.

The establishment of women's development institutions to enhance women's capabilities and skills will also get attention.
