ROS cancels PPBM's notice of temporary disbandment - Home Ministry

PUTRAJAYA, May 17 (Bernama) -- The Registrar of Societies has revoked the provisional dissolution order issued to PPBM, effective yesterday (May 16), said Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Alwi Ibrahim.

He said the cancellation of the order, dated April 5, 2018 under Section 14 (5) of the Societies Act 1966, was pursuant to Section 14 (6) of the same Act.

Under Section 14 (6), he said the Registrar of Societies may revoke the order under Section 14 (5) when the requested information is received.

"The decision was made after taking into consideration the information submitted by the PPBM, and received by the Registry of Societies Malaysia (ROS)," he said in a statement, today.

ROS, on April 5, had issued the order against PPBM, which gave the party 30 days to submit all required documents required by the body.

With PPBM's issue settled, Alwi said the application for registration of the Pakatan Harapan coalition had also been approved in accordance with Section 7 of the same Act, yesterday (May 16).

"Therefore, PPBM and Pakatan Harapan (PH) may carry out their activities in line with their registered objectives and constitution, and conduct them in accordance with the requirements of Act 335," he said.

Yesterday, PH deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said PH had officially been approved as a coalition of four parties by ROS.

The four parties are PKR, DAP, Amanah and PPBM.

Meanwhile, PH's official Facebook page today uploaded a photo of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who is also PH chairman, receiving PH's Registration Certificate from Alwi.

Also present were PKR president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail who has been named Deputy Prime Minister, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu (Defence Minister-designate) and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng (Finance Minister-designate).
