Anwar Ibrahim to go on nationwide tour

PUTRAJAYA, May 19 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim plans to go on a nationwide tour to meet and express his appreciation to the people for their support for Pakatan Harapan.

The PKR de facto leader said the tour would commence soon as the first phase of the formation of the Cabinet has been completed.

"I am happy that things have been resolved. This is the first half of the Cabinet. We wished them well."

"Unlike the previous regime, our Cabinet minister will be closely watched by the people," he told reporters after accompanying his wife, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail who is Deputy Prime Minister-designate, to call on Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong here today.

When asked about his life after being released from prison last Wednesday, Anwar said he had yet to have the opportunity to really spend time with his children and grandchildren as he was always surrounded by members of the media.

Anwar, 71, was released immediately following the full pardon from Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V on May 16, 2018.
