Syamsul Debat resigns from all UMNO posts
SEREMBAN May 19 (Bernama) -- Motivational speaker and religious personality Syamsul Amri Ismail, better known 'Syamsul Debat', today announced that he had quit from all his posts in UMNO following his defeat in the 14th General Election (GE14) on May 9.
Syamsul, 41, said he had let go of his posts as Seremban UMNO division Youth Information head, Panchor UMNO division permanent Youth chairman and UMNO Information Bureau speaker.
"I will also not compete for any posts in UMNO to make way for other leaders. To all my friends in the Seremban UMNO division Youth and Seremban UMNO division committee, I take responsibility for my defeat in GE14 and resign from all my posts in UMNO."
"I also wish success to my friends. Insyallah, I am always available to share ideas and views in the spirit of kinship," Syamsul Amri posted on his Facebook page, 'Syamsul Amri Ismail Official', today, adding that he would focus on work with non-governmental organisations and motivational talks.
