I never expect to become Pahang MB - Wan Rosdy
CAMERON HIGHLANDS, May 23 (Bernama) -- Jelai assemblyman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail admits he has never expected to be appointed as the 15th Pahang Menteri Besar.
He made the admission in his maiden speech before the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the opening of the mosque, breaking of fast and handing over of donations to the less fortunate in Kampung Raja here today.
Wan Rosdy took his oath of office as the Pahang Menteri Besar at the Istana Abu Bakar, Pekan on Tuesday replacing Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob who has held the post for 19 years.
"It is totally unexpected and the news (on the appointment) is only made known to me at noon Tuesday. It is truly a surprise because I am an ordinary elected representative since 2004 before being appointed as a state executive council member from 2008 to 2018.
"The post comes with a big and heavy responsibility but I am confident I will be able to carry out the trust given to me to the best of my ability with the guidance provided," he said.
Meanwhile on the construction of the new Kampung Raja mosque, Wan Rosdy said it was built at a cost of RM987,000 with allocation from the federal government,
