Azmin, Abu Kassim spotted at CEP meeting today




KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and former MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed were spotted entering Menara Ilham where the 14th round of the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) meeting was held today.

However, both gentlemen did not speak to the media.

Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) Chairman Datuk Azhar Abdul Hamid was also seen in the building. When approached, Azhar said he was there to hand over some reports requested by the council and left immeditely thereafter.

Among the key personnel scheduled to appear before the council included Telekom Malaysia Bhd Chairman Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob and the Inland Revenue Board Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah.

Others were National Higher Education Fund Corporation Chief Executive Officer Wan Ahmad Wan Yusoff, Director BRIM Division, Inland Revenue Board, Badri Basiran.

Other attendees scheduled were two officials from Bank Negara Malaysia namely Director of Economic Department, Fraziali Ismail, and Dr Norhana Endut, Director of Monetary Policy Department.



The CEP meeting today was somewhat fast-tracked and adjourned early to allow most council members and key persons to perform Friday prayers.

When contacted, CEP Head of Media and Communication Datuk A. Kadir Jasin said there would be no press conference today.
