Jamal disappears after being charged at Ampang Puteri Hospital

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- Sungai Besar UMNO chief Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos is missing from the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital a few hours after he was charged there before Magistrate Raja Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin today.

In the proceedings conducted at the Premier ward of the hospital at 10.45am, Jamal was charged with three offences, including smashing beer bottles in front of the Selangor State Secretary Building in Shah Alam last year. However, he pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Jamal is currently undergoing treatment for his back pain at the hospital.

His disappearance from the hospital was realised by Shah Alam Court Assistant Registrar who handled his bail process at 5.30 pm.

Selangor CID chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat, when contacted, confirmed receiving a report on the missing man.

He said Jamal was charged with three offences at the Ampang Puteri Hospital and the Magistrate allowed him bail of RM 3,000 for each charge.

"During the bail documentation process, he left the hospital compound," Fadzil said, adding that police would contact the man to complete the bail process.
