PH Perak confident manifesto can be fulfilled by this year
IPOH, May 29 (Bernama) -- Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH) is confident that the 100-day promises in its 14th General Election (GE14) manifesto can be implemented this year.
Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said he and fellow state executive councillors recently held a discussion on the matter.
"We have to fulfill all the obligations and promises we made for GE14."
"I have also discussed with State Financial Officer Datuk Mohd Ghazali Jalal, and he has made a commitment to the government to assist us in fulfilling PH's promises this year," he said.
He said this during a breaking of fast ceremony held at his grandfather's residence in Gugusan Manjoi here today, which was also attended by PKR de-facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Ahmad Faizal said he would try to expedite the implementation of free water for targeted groups, within the first 100 days of PH's administration in Perak.
"Also as announced by the Federal Government that on June 1, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be no more, so I hope that such announcements will prove that we (PH) can carry out our promises."
In GE14, PH Perak outlined five main thrusts comprising 31 promises, including the special assistance to seniors, single mothers and persons with disabilities as well as military and police veterans; the establishment of women's development institutions to enhance women's capabilities and skills in various aspects.
PH Perak won the most state seats in GE14 but not a simple majority. However, two Barisan Nasional crossed over enabling it to form the state government.
