Two more Pahang excos sworn in

KUANTAN, June 5 (Bernama) -- Benta and Batu Talam assemblymen Datuk Seri Mohd Soffi Razak and Datuk Abd Aziz Kiram, were sworn in as Pahang state executive councillors (excos) today.

The presentation of the appointment letters and swearing-in ceremony took place before the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, at Istana Abdulaziz, here.

Also present at the ceremony were the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and eight excos who had been earlier sworn in.

Mohd Soffi was the former Basic Amenities and Environmental Committee chairman while Abd Aziz is among the four new faces appointed as excos for this term. The appointment completes the allocation of 10 excos as permitted according to the state constitution.

Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy when met after the ceremony, aid following the appointment of the executive council members, he would relinquish two of the four portfolios held by him.

"I will announce the portfolios that will be held by the two new councillors after the weekly State Executive Council Meeting," he said.

The four portfoliosheld by Wan Rosdy are the Committee on Financial Planning, Land and Natural Resources; Committee on Investment, Industrialisation and Economy; Committee on Rural Development and Orang Asli Affairs; and the Committee on Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Plantations and Biotechnology.
